Once you have submitted everything to the BRE and you have received an examination date you’ll want to take my weekend Boot Camp which teaches you how to pass the California real estate salesperson or brokers exam. If you’d like additional information regarding my Boot Camp please e-mail us.
There are minimum requirements in order to apply for the California Real estate Salesperson Examination and License.
To obtain a real estate salesperson’s license, you must first qualify for and pass a written examination. Those who pass the examination are provided a license application which must be submitted to and approved by the BRE.
1.Age---You must be 18 years of age or older to be issued a license.
2.Residence---Proof of legal presence in the United States is required. You do not need to live in California (you may reside in any other state of the United States).
3.Honestly---Applicants must be honest and truthful.
3.Education---Successful completion of the following college-level courses is required to become a real estate salesperson:
A.Real Estate Principles and
B.Real Estate Practice and
C.one course from the following list:
. Real Estate Appraisal
. Property Management
. Real Estate Finance
. Real Estate Economics
. Legal Aspects of Real Estate
. Real Estate Office Administration
. General Accounting
. Business Law
. Escrows
. Mortgage Loan Brokering and Lending
. Computer Applications in Real Estate
. Common Interest Developments
Note: Members of the California State Bar are statutorily exempt from the college-level course requirements.
Members of any state bar as well as individuals also holding an LL.B or a J.D. degree who are not members of any State Bar, including California, may generally qualify on the basis of education.
5. Experience---None required.
To apply for the salesperson examination.
1. Initial examination scheduling can not occur until your application and additional appropriate forms have been submitted and approved by the DRE.
If you would like to know which forms are required and the recommended way of filling them out (filling the forms out incorrectly may cause lengthy delays) simply send an e-mail with your request and we will instruct you on how to download the appropriate forms off our website and the proper way of filling them out. 2. Evidence of completion of the three above mentioned prerequisite courses (Principles, Practice, and a third alternate course) must be submitted to the BRE before an examination will be issued.
3. The appropriate fee for the application (for these please go to examine information on this website.
